**** I haven't always been a fan of Bring Me The Horizon because I find the unclean vocal they often use to be too much, however I have always appreciated their songwriting, particularly lyrically. This track is perfectly suited to me in that regard, because it maintains their usual songwriting style, while offering a vocal which is far more palatable to me. The opening line is very clever and sets the scene well for a story of someone who is finally free of a toxic relationship. It's very well-written and quite easy to relate to. The chorus is possibly more of a pop sound than is usual for them, but it totally works for me, it's very catchy and offers a relieving retaliation to whoever you relate the song to in your own mind as you listen. This impressive effort made me instantly much more interested in hearing their album when it was released. |
